Just wondering if anyone has had any difficulties with customs/duty when ordering their supplies. I see that the e-cigarettes and liquid that is sold here contains no nicotine. For example, I see on the zillion site
“Cartridges contain Propylene Glycol, Tabanone, Damascenone”
and
“At the moment nicotine cartridges are illegal for sale in New Zealand unless they are registered as medicines with Medsafe.”
Anyone know the full story. Is the shipment I just ordered from e-cig going to have problems?

Hi John,
As far as I know . . . “illegal for sale IN NEW ZEALAND”. I would take that to mean that it’s not legal to SELL nicotine content cartridges or liquid here.
With regard to your order from E-cig.com, I have ordered through them 5 or 6 times, and have never had a customs problem (touch wood). As far as I know, it is legal to purchase these products from overseas, for personal use (three month supply).
Depending on what e-cigarette product you end up using, you may want to eventually use a low or 0% cartridge or liquid anyway. I know from personal experience, using the e-pipe from e-cig.com will see you wanting to use lower strength because of the amount of vapour - you’d OD on nicotine fairly quickly I’d say 
One other thing you may want to know is that E-cig.com are currently on a Chinese holiday for a few days, so your order may be delayed slightly.

Hi John,
I’ve received several shipments here in NZ from The Netherlands, including a large supply of cartridges (250 of them) recently (needless to say, they were definitely not 0%  ). So far, so good (touch wood too !)…

Well the shipment did go straight through, no probs. I guess if you can buy the gum OTC there shouldn’t be an issue.

Great news about your order arriving safely
I would love it if these products were available OTC, but Medsafe have some pretty clear definitions between NRT products and how they can be sold.
The e-cigarette cartridges containing nicotine are classed as an “inhaled nicotine” device and are classed separately from gum and patches. I have my own views on why this might be, but I’ll keep those to myself for now
Let us know how you get on with the e-cigarette!
